Mechanical tests on Profile1 dental implants

The goal of mechanical testing is to experimentally determine static and fatigue mechanical resistance of dental implants assembled with pre-angled abutments. Moreover, torsion resistance of the through screw and the implant+mounting assembly has been considered with static testing until system collapse.

Static load resistance tests.
The results highlight that implants featuring a 9 mm abutment are not indicated for the molar area of the dental arch, while when the length of the abutment is increased to 6.5 mm the reached load allows to use the implant in any area of the dental arch.

Fatigue resistance tests.
At the end of 5,000,000 loading cycles, no implant has shown signs of collapse of any kind.
Torsion resistance tests.
The test was successful.
